1968 Shelby GT 350 convertible my project pictures w/ Shelby and Mack Yates
My personal project is this 1968 Shelby Cobra GT 350 convertible. Bought as a non-running "barn find" which was 95% complete and original! This Shelby was sold/delivered to Yates-Stevens Ford and was displayed on their showroom for special events. See picture of my car, along side Mr. Stevens (l)Carroll Shelby (c) Mack Yates (r). Mack was co-owner of the dealer that delivered a few Shelby vehicle over the years. Mack was also a successful Cobra racer around the midwest. I feel this gives my car a "pedigree" that will follow it,wherever it goes. Another Ford dealer in the area, Roberts Ford, had a buyer and because he was not a registered Shelby dealer did some dealer trading to secure the car for his customer. If you wanted a Shelby you had to go through a Shelby dealer. These three gathered next to the car on Y-S showroom for a special Shelby promotion March,1968.
March,1968 ,three power house people during Shelby promotion,of which was my GT 350.
